IMPORTANT HEALTH REMINDERS FROM THE NURSES
Please call or email your child's nurse to report their absence prior to the start of the school day !
Fever
- If your child has a fever and you have to give fever-reducing medications such as Motrin or Tylenol before the start of school they should not be in attendance at school today and should not return to school tomorrow. Students must stay home for 24 hours for a fever of 100.0 or above.
- Students who develop a fever of 100.0 or above will be sent home and must stay home for 24 hours or longer if symptoms remain.
- Students will be sent home when fever above normal is associated with behavior change or other signs of illness or the child is unable to participate and staff cannot care for child without compromising ability to care for the other children in the group.
Diarrhea and Vomiting
- If your child has diarrhea or has vomited before the start of school they should not be in attendance at school today and should not return to school tomorrow. Students must stay home for 24 hours for a fever of 100.0 or above.
- If your child has two or more episodes of diarrhea or has vomited during the school day they will be sent home and should not return to school tomorrow. Students must stay home for 24 hours or longer if symptoms remain.
Doctor's Notes
- If your child is absent from school for three or more days due to illness please provide a doctor's note on day of return.
Allergies and Epipens
- If your child has a life-threatening allergy and requires an Epipen please fill out the following forms:
- Be sure to sign all parent areas (front and back of forms).
- Bring Epipen and forms to the school nurse as soon as possible.
- It is vital that you follow the attached directions to order an allergy-safe meal from the cafeteria.
For students with a history of Asthma or RAD:
- If your child requires rescue medication during the school day please be sure to provide a signed asthma action plan (see link below) from your healthcare provider.
- Be sure to administer your child’s medications prior to sending them to school.

Missing Medical Information
If you still have not turned in medical paperwork (immunizations, current physical exam, or The Woodland Park Medical Questionnaire (see attached link) please do so as soon as possible. This information is required to attend school.
If there is any new health information you would like to add, please fill out a new medical and emergency information form and return it to your child's nurse.
