• Ms. Ruble, School Social Worker

    • Hi there! My name is Nicole Ruble, and I am Memorial Middle School’s new school social worker. I am beyond excited to be a part of the Woodland Park School District. I am looking forward to serving the students and extending my support to them throughout the school year. I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with my Masters of Social Work in May of 2021. I am now a Licensed Social Worker in the state of New Jersey, and am currently accruing hours to obtain my clinical license to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I also hold a school social work certificate from the State of New Jersey. I have worked with children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges and substance/alcohol use in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program in Parsippany. I most recently held various roles within St. Clare’s Behavioral Health in Denville, including risk assessments and level of care referrals for high risk youth, outpatient counseling to children, teens, adults and families, and social work services within an elementary school setting.

I am ready to get to know your students and build a relationship with them in which they feel safe and supported. Some of the services I will provide include therapeutic intervention for mental health concerns, behavior, positive behavioral support, classroom support, crisis management, peer conflict and individual and group therapy. It is the mission of Woodland Park School District to enhance the success and well-being of the students. I will be working closely with Mrs. Williams, school counselor, as well as the administration, teachers and other support staff to meet the unique needs of your student at Memorial Middle School.

I want to ensure your student feels comfortable, confident, competent and capable when they step into the building here at Memorial Middle School. In my practice, I prefer to utilize components of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and insight-orientated therapy. I will take the time to explore each student’s strengths and interests, applying a strengths-based approach. I have found the most success with strategies like perspective-taking, reframing cognitive distortions, challenging automatic negative thoughts, improving self-talk, emotional regulation techniques and psychoeducation.

The Counseling Team at Memorial Middle School is eager to help your students have the best year possible. Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts, questions or concerns. I can be reached at nruble@wpschools.org or 973-317-7786.
