I am a lifelong resident of Woodland Park.  As a child, I attended Charles Olbon and Memorial School.  Since the age of five, I knew I wanted to become a teacher.  After graduating from Passaic Valley High School, I attended Caldwell College to later obtain my degree in education.  All of my educational field work took place in the district of Woodland Park.  Upon graduating from Caldwell, I was hired in this district as a Basic Skills Instructor for grades kindergarten to fourth, here at Charles Olbon.

I have taught second grade at Charles Olbon for two years.  I later taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Social Studies in Memorial School for three years.  Then, I went on to Beatrice Gilmore to begin my journey into kindergarten teaching.  Since the schools have been realigned, I found myself back to where it all began, Charles Olbon School.  September 6, 2017, marked my twelfth year in kindergarten. Now, a new adventure begins. As of September 2018, I will be teaching first grade.

The 2018-2019 school year marks the beginning of my nineteenth year of teaching in Woodland Park.  It is wonderful to give back to my community, what I was given as a child, a great education that was provided by dedicated teachers.  I will continue to carry out that tradition of dedication.  I am very fortunate to say that I LOVE my career.  It gives me greaht pride and pleasure to wake up every morning and do what I love to do.

I am looking forward to a fantastic school year, marked with fun and enthusiastic learning!

    What is a Teacher?
A teacher is someone who sees each child as a unique person
and encourages individual talents and strengths.

A teacher looks beyond each child's face
    and sees inside their souls.

A teacher is someone with a special touch and a ready smile
who takes the time to listen to both sides and always tries to be fair.

A teacher has a caring heart
    that respects and understands.

A teacher is someone who can look past disruption and rebellion,
    and recognize hurt and pain.

A teacher teachers the entire child
and helps to build confidence and raise self-esteem.

A teacher makes a difference in each child's life
and affects each family and the future of us all.

    Forever in Your Heart
    Although you're not their parent,
You care for them each day.
You cuddle, sing, and read to them
and watch them as they play.
    You see each new accomplishment
You help them grow and learn.
    You understand their language
    and you listen with concern.
They come to you for comfort
and you kiss away their tears.
They proudly show their work to you
    You give the loudest cheers!
No, you are not their parent
but your role is just as strong.
You nurture them and keep them safe
    though maybe not for long.
You know someday the time will come
when you will have to part.
But you know each child you've cared for
    is Forever in your heart.
