Please continue to check your child's NOTICE (Yellow) FOLDER DAILY. Continuing to follow ALL SCHOOL and CLASSROOM PROCEDURES will be appreciated.
LANGUAGE ARTS –We are working on CAPITAL (upper case) LETTERS and ABC order of letters. BLENDING (tapping) SOUNDS to build words and read is a fun adventure. Making REAL and NONSENSE (silly) WORDS is a funny adventure. We are working on RHYMING, too! We are reading sight words (trick words, snap words, rainbow words, high frequency words). We are using our READING POWERS to be SUPER READERS! We are writing labels, beginning sounds, words, and sentences; drawing; and telling stories. We are learning that authors write in different ways: Personal ("I"), Narrative (Someone or Something else, Real or Make Believe), How To's, Opinion Writing, Nonfiction Writing, and Persuasive Writing.MATH – We are working on NUMBERS 0 to 100: Counting, Writing, Representing, and Comparing Numbers and Groups: greater than, more, bigger, less than, fewer, smaller; COUNTING to 50 and 100 by ONES and COUNTING to 100 by TENS, FIVES, and TWOS; ADDITION and SUBTRACTION FACTS TO TEN and TWENTY and using DOUBLES to help ADD and SUBTRACT.Have fun exploring daily lessons in the books you read as well as in your everyday environment!
Show and Tell is scheduled for every Friday afternoon, if time permits. When helping your child choose a show and tell item, have them think of the LANGUAGE ARTS - PHONICS, READING, and WRITING; MATH; SCIENCE; SOCIAL STUDIES; HEALTH; and CHARACTER EDUCATION lessons of the week. This helps students make real life connections.
