What is Book in the Bag?
Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),
As a way of extending our class Reading Workshop time, your child will be bringing home a book that he or she has worked on in school to read. Your child may read the book to you or you may read it together. Please take time to sit and enjoy the book with your child as part of a regular homework routine. Your interest and support are so valuable as your child works toward strengthening his or her reading skills. The children may bring books home on Monday-Thursday nights.
It is very important that the books are returned to school the following day. Children may keep the same book. Students will not be allowed to check out another book until the book from the previous night is returned to school. Since the books are property of Charles Olbon School, it must be replaced by the student if lost or damaged. The book must be transported to and from the school in its plastic bag and into your child’s backpack as soon as you are finished reading together. This prevents any last minute searching before school in the morning.
Thank you for your participation and involvement in Book in the Bag. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kramer
