Reading Workshop
* a teaching method in which the goal is to teach students strategies for reading and comprehension
* allows teachers to differentiate and meet the needs of all of their students through confereces and guided reading groups
* fosters the love of reading and gives students the chance to practice reading strategies independently and with guidance
Writing Workshop
* similar structure to Reading Workshop
* students are given opportunities to write a variety of genres (personal narratives, non-fiction, poetry)
* allows teachers to differentiate and meet the needs of all of their students through confereces and small group instruction
* fosters the love of writing
Fundations
* a systematic and multisensory reading and phonics program that incorporates:
- phonemic awareness
- phonics/word study
- high frequency word study
- reading fluency
- vocabulary
- comprehension strategies
- spelling
- handwriting
